#STRATFORD, Ct. — December, 2016 — Local volunteers with the Civil Air Patrol’s Stratford Eagles Composite Squadron are working hard to ensure that all veterans laid to rest at Mountain Grove Cemetery, located in Bridgeport, are honored this December on National Wreaths Across America Day.

This year, the ceremony, held simultaneously across the country at more than 1,000 locations, will be on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016. The goal: to place a live, balsam fir wreath at the headstone of every veteran buried there and say each person’s name, so their memory lives on. The Stratford Eagles Squadron is hosting a fundraisers to sponsor the 2, 501 wreaths needed to honor every veteran at Mountain Grove. Each wreath sponsorship costs $15, with $5 going to the local fundraising group as part of a special fundraising program developed by WAA.
