#Fairfield CT– Around 1:30 Saturday morning Fairfield Emergency Communications began receiving calls for a fire in the rear porch at the historic 480 Old Post Road. When firefighters arrived they confirmed that there was heavy fire in the back of the building. The fire quickly spread throughout the large structure. Everyone reportedly made it out of the home but one person did jump from a second story window and was taken to the hospital by EMS. Firefighters made entry through the front doors. Heavy fire could be seen from the left side of the building. It took firefighters about a half hour to bring the fire under control. Mutual aid from surrounding towns was called in to help battle the fire and to provide coverage to the empty fire stations in Fairfield. There were no reported injuries. The fire marshal will investigate to determine the cause of the blaze.
