Welcome Home Firefighters!

#Westport CT-- How about some like to home our Deputy Chief along with (18) Connecticut firefighters. Returning last evening, Deputy Chief Kronick and members of the CT Wildfire Crew traveled out to Colorado at the end of July to help battle the blazing wildfires that have been crippling the region. The CT Interstate Fire Crew was deployed on the Buttermilk and Green Mountain Fires where thousands of acres were charred by the burning blazes. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection maintains a roster of staff and personnel from local fire departments who are certified to fight wildfires, which in turn allows Connecticut to participate in a reciprocal aid program operated by the U.S. Forest Service. Fairfield News: One In Custody After Pursuit

Fairfield Police UPDATE: Hasan T. Fleming (1/19/94) of Hough Avenue, Bridgeport was arrested and charged with Interfering with a Police Officer, Reckless Driving, Failure to Obey Officer Signal, Evading Responsibility, Failure to Drive Right, and Excessive Window Tint, after he failed to stop for an officer conducting a routine traffic stop in the area of Commerce Drive and Coolidge St. Fleming engaged officers in pursuit onto I-95 southbound and struck a citizen’s vehicle during the pursuit. Officers were able to take Fleming into custody at the I-95 southbound exit ramp for Mill Plain Rd. There were no injuries as a result of the pursuit. Fleming was later released on a $5000. Fairfield News: Shoplifter With Child In Car Flees

10:51am--#Bridgeport CT-- A male who shoplifted 3 toolkits from Home Depot fled in a car with a child inside.  Police located and briefly pursued the car southbound on I-95 but broke off the pursuit when the noticed the child in the car and the heavy traffic on the highway.  The driver got off exit 19 and is near the Gray Goose Restaurant and police have two people in custody.   This news report is made possible by:

Bridgeport News: Two Shot- 1 Dead Cities 7th Homicide

UPDATE: --Police say that just before 12:30 Monday morning Len Allen Smith of Fourth Street was fatally shot while sitting in parked car at Union and Stratford Avenue.  A second victim, Georgia Comacho who was seated in the back seat was also shot. She underwent surgery and is in critical condition. Smith died of his injuries.  Police were looking for a white Jeep Cherokee that pulled up to their red Buick and opened fire. The suspect vehicle was located in Shelton on fire at Indian Wells State Park.  This was Bridgeport's 7th homicide of the year. 12:34am--#Bridgeport CT-- According to multiple radio reports two people were shot a Stratford and Union Avenue, one person was shot in the head.
