Bridgeport News: Homicide #9

POLICE UPDATE: The victim of last nights homicide has been identified as Edwin "Jeremy" Mangual, 30 of 84 Victory Street, Bridgeport. Detectives continue to work to establish motive, and an update will be provided if and when more information becomes available.   Bridgeport Police UPDATE: On November 27, 2018 at 1937 hours, shots were fired in front of 73/75 Laurel Avenue, striking a 30 year old male in the torso and neck. The male victim was found unresponsive at the scene and was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. This was not a random act of violence and the victim appears to have been targeted by the assailant(s). The identity of the victim is pending…

Bridgeport News: Bullard Tech Receives National Award

#Bridgeport CT-- How about some likes for Bullard Haven Technical School's Automotive Department for receiving an award from WIX Filters and Tomorrow’s Tech Magazine for being the number one school across the country for both high school and community college level.   The school will receive the award on Thursday.  Mayor Joe Ganim did not want to overshadow the awards ceremony so he presented a proclamation honoring the students, facility, and school today.  Well done!

School Bus Driver Attacked

2:39pm--#cttraffic--#Bridgeport CT-- State police are on scene on I-95 southbound at exit 27 where a student on a school bus attacked the school bus driver.  I don't know the bus company or what school the bus is from.  EMS has been dispatched for possible psychiatric issues with the student (please note I did not identify the student so there is no HIPA or any other violations).

I just received this email.  I knew NOT to click on the link.  I called the bank directly to make sure my account was in good standing which it was.  The customer service person said they do NOT post any links in their emails.  I have worked with the police departments long enough to not click on any links.  Just a reminder to everyone not to get scammed!  If in doubt, call the customer support phone number directly, never, never, never click on the link.

Ansonia News: Carbon Monoxide Poisioning

11:20am--#Ansonia CT-- First responders on scene at Adanti Drive for a report of carbon monoxide poisoning.  Radio reports say the carbon monoxide alarms were going off in the home and the residents were passing out in the structure.   Ansonia firefighters remain busy with this happening along with a fire alarm going off at 88 Main Street and a flooding problem on Williams Street.   This news report is made possible by:

Free Flu Shots

The Naugatuck Valley Health District is hosting a free public flu vaccination clinic on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 9-11AM at the NVHD office located at 98 Bank Street, Seymour, CT 06483.  This clinic is open to anyone, regardless of insurance status, although if individuals have eligible insurance, they should bring their cards.  Regular and high-dose (recommended for those aged 65 and older) vaccines are available.  No appointments are necessary. The clinic will be supported by NVHD staff, Naugatuck Valley Medical Reserve Corps volunteers, and volunteer Nurses from Griffin Hospital’s Valley Parish Nurses.   This news report is made possible by:
