HOLIDAY CONCERTS SET AT STRATFORD LIBRARY

Harmonica History, NEGS and Sister Cities Featured This Year             The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford will present three special holiday concerts on consecutive Sunday afternoons in December. The annual event is also the final program in celebration of the Library 125th anniversary year.  It is sponsored this year by the Janice Daponte Memorial Fund. The concert schedule includes The World of Harmonica on December 4, The New England Guitar Society on December 11 and The Stratford Sister Cities Chorus set for December 18.  The concerts, held in the Library’s Lovell Room at 2 pm each Sunday, are free and open to the public.   The World of Harmonica is presented by harmonica virtuoso Bob Hennessy and is an effort to expand the awareness of the instrument.  Using Story Telling, Historical Facts and playing…

Fairfield News: What’s Going On At Joe’s American Bar and Grill?

I met with Mark S. Barnhart, Director of Economic Development the other day and asked him about any recent developments at the former site of Joe's American Bar and Grill located at 750 Post Road. Many businesses have complained to me about it being an eyesore. Mark said the developer of the site has taken out a permit to make improvements to the facade. He said there has been interest in the site but no commitment. HARTFORD, Conn. (Nov. 23, 2022) — Access Health CT (AHCT) Small Business announced it will waive the minimum number of employees typically required to enroll in a small group health insurance plan now through Dec. 15. Small businesses can enroll in a group health insurance plan at any time of year. However, they usually need a certain percentage of employees to participate in the plan. During this period, any small business with 50 or fewer employees in Connecticut can enroll in a group health insurance plan regardless of how many employees participate. Armed Robbery/Criminal Attempt Murder – Peking Chinese Restaurant

#Bridgeport CT--On November 25, 2022, at approximately 5:20 pm the Bridgeport Police Emergency Operations Center was notified of a party shot at 264 Wood Avenue, Bridgeport, CT (Peking Chinese Restaurant). As details came into police dispatch, uniformed officers and detectives quickly responded to the scene and determined the Peking Chinese Restaurant was also the subject of a violent armed robbery. During the course of the robbery, the 48-year-old restaurant owner was shot at twice. Bullet projectiles shattered equipment in the business that fragmented and struck him in the face. The restaurant owner was transported to a local hospital, treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and released. Fortunately, the store owner was not killed.
