The spirit of giving is already dancing through Fairfield! Fairfield Social Services (FSS) is celebrating Social Worker Eileen Fickes’s recent win at the Gaelic-American Club’s Dancing with the Stars. Eileen chose FSS as her charity, helping raise support for heating assistance and gift card assistance for Fairfield residents.
“While Eileen may have hung up her dancing shoes, the spirit of giving continues,” said Julie DeMarco, Fairfield Human and Social Services Director. “This year, FSS is expanding its Holiday Giving Program and making it easier than ever to support local families, seniors, and veterans through online donations.”
With the rising cost of groceries, household essentials, and home heating, many Fairfield residents are facing difficult choices. And those challenges don’t end with the holidays. FSS is working to ensure neighbors can access help throughout the year.
“Sometimes, a little help can make a meaningful difference. Gift cards allow residents to choose what they need most, offering practical assistance while preserving dignity and choice,” DeMarco said.
Fairfield Social Services is making it easier than ever to support local residents through online donations to its Holiday Giving Program and year-round assistance efforts. Gift cards are also greatly appreciated, especially those for Stop & Shop, ShopRite, Walmart, Amazon and Target. Every contribution helps remind a neighbor that they are not alone and that their community cares. Make an online donation at Fairfield Social Services
Gift cards donations and checks payable to Fairfield Social Services may be mailed or dropped off at the Fairfield Social Services, 100 Mona Terrace, Fairfield, CT 06824.
Thanks to Eileen Fickes, the Gaelic-American Club, and everyone who supported Dancing with the Stars, the spirit of giving is already in motion. Together, we can make the holidays brighter and help Fairfield neighbors feel supported in every season.
