Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara in a White Ribbon Campaign against Domestic Violence. Walk a Mile in her Shoes is a walk with a purpose: To focus attention on domestic violence and sexual assault. It is the first event of the White Ribbon Campaign, an initiative of The Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County, the lifeline for victims of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault who live in Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull. Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara is leading the Walk, and his goal is to have 1,000 people join him as he walks down the Post Road. The event is free; donations will gladly be accepted. Visit http://walkamilefairfield.eventbrite.com/# to sign up for the event and download a pledge sheet, a perfect way to get friends and family to support your walk. All proceeds go directly to helping victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault become survivors. Before the walk, any man or boy can join the White Ribbon Campaign by simply logging onto http://www.cwfefc.org and pledge their support to end domestic violence. The pledge button is prominently displayed on the left side of The Center’s home page.
