(Bridgeport, CT -- May 23, 2014) – A Subway restaurant on East Main Street was robbed Thursday night. Officer John Topolski responded to the business at 926 E. Main St. just before 10:30 p.m. He spoke to employees, who informed him that an armed male wearing a mask and all black clothing entered the store and demanded money from the register. The victim then fled with a small amount of cash. Detectives Michael Fiumidinisi and Kenneth McKenna are investigating.

$2.1 Million Needed to Repair Dam (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that $2.1 million to fund needed repairs to Bashan Lake Dam in East Haddam is expected to be approved at the next meeting of the state Bond Commission. “Bashan Lake is a very extremely popular recreational water resource used long enjoyed by residents and visitors,” said Governor Malloy. “These repairs will improve the safety of the dam, ensure public access to recreational fishing and boating, and improve parking and access at the state boat launch.” The historically rebuilt dam was originally of stone masonry construction. 12:19am--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are looking for a red 1999 Ford Explorer just taken in a carjacking that just occurred on Robin Street. The vehicle was last seen on Madison Avenue.
12:11am--Bless our police officers, they never know what call they will get next. They were just dispatched for someone complaining about people making outside making noise in the snow. I'm not even going to mention the street....
