DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Stratford’s Blues On The Beach

STRATFORD – Stratford is set for its annual “Blues on the Beach” summer music festival, which has become an increasingly popular summer ritual for the coastal town. The event will take place at Short Beach on Saturday, July 20th, from 12:00 pm-9:30 pm.  Blues is part of the Stratford Celebrate Festivals and is run by volunteer, Erin McLaughlin.   “Erin and her team do an amazing job of organizing the bands, stage, and vendors. Westport News: Dog/Owner Rescued – Trapped In Mud

2019-07-16 @ 5:32pm--Tuesday-- #Westport CT--The Westport Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a person stuck in the mud in the Saugatuck River. The initial dispatch was for Engine 2 and Rescue 3. Truck 1 and Car 3 were added to the assignment after clearing from a previous emergency call. Rescue 3 arrived on scene and reported one person and their pet dog were stuck in approximately 1’-2’ of mud. Using an inflatable Rapid Deployment Craft (RDC) firefighters entered the mud to reach the victim. Additionally, Fire and Police Marine units were dispatched to the scene. Stratford News: Weapons and Narcotics Arrest

#Stratford CT--On 06/19/2019 the Stratford Narcotics Unit, in coordination with the Bridgeport Police Task Force, Safe Streets Task Force and the Norwalk Police Narcotics Unit executed two Search Warrants for Narcotics and Firearms Violations. These Search Warrants were the culmination of an investigation conducted by the Stratford Narcotics Unit and the Bridgeport Police Task Force that focused on Narcotics Sales as well as Firearms related crimes within the Town of Stratford and City of Bridgeport. Bridgeport News: Rollover Accident On The East Side

11:42pm-- A car traveling at a high rate of speed on the East Side hit a car, a parked truck and totaled a trike with no one on board. The car then hit a linked fence then flipped over into a yard at the intersection of Arctic and William Street. First responders said there were three inside the vehicle but they were able to get themselves out and transported to the hospital. Police are investigating.
