Bridgeport News: 3 Overdoses At The Same Time

2019-08-31 @ 7:54pm–#Bridgeport CT– There were three overdoses in two part of town that kept first responders busy.  The first were two unresponsive males in the 300 block of Wilmont Avenue.  They initially did not respond to Narcan and required advance life saving support.  Eventually both were revived.

Another overdose took place when a woman called on Hanover Street that her boyfriend overdosed, she had administered Narcan but he did not respond to it.  First responders did get him to respond.

Overdoses happen everyday but I stopped reporting them because of the frequency of them.  It’s like reporting shots fired calls.

Fairfield News: Spat On Da Floor

2019-08-31 @ 4:20pm–#Fairfield CT– The unusual calls, especially on Kings Highway East continue.  The Akita Restaurant at 451 Kings Hwy East called the police to report that three people came to the restaurant, spat on the floor and then left on foot towards Bridgeport.  Last time I was there they told me to watch the fish until my table was ready.  I didn’t know there were options.

2019-08-31 @ 12:12pm–#Fairfield CT– Police were called about a man who threw a very large “brick” or paver through the front door window at Colleen Tighe State Farm Office at 102 Kings Hwy East.  The office was closed at the time.  Like a good neighbor citizens stayed on the phone with police and the suspect was apprehended on Mason Street across the street.

Bridgeport News: Dirty Politics?

UPDATE: After THREE attempts to get an “official” word on this incident, Terron Jones, Bridgeport Police Spokesperson replied “On 8/30/2019 at approximately 1948hrs, a 911 caller stated that there was a suspicious person (white male wearing all black, a mask, holding a rifle) near the 100 block of Brewster St.  The BPD were on scene at 1953hrs where they searched the immediate and surrounding areas. The Bridgeport Police did not find any authentication of the callers report of the suspicious person.”

2019-08-30 @ 8:15pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police were called to Port Five at 69 Brewster Street for a suspect going behind Port Five wearing all black “an amour mask” carrying an automatic weapon.  Police found no one like that but found there was a political event taking place there.  When I called Lennie Grimaldi who is the political authority with his website he said there was a fund raiser for Marilyn Moore there tonight.  The event was not disrupted and more than likely no one there knew about the incident.

Bridgeport News: Firearm Arrest

Here is gun arrest we first told you about when it was happening:

2019-08-29 @ 2:50pm–Nembers of the State/Bridgeport Gang Unit along with Statewide Narcotics and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force were conducting surveillance in the area of Stratford Avenue. While in this area Task Force Officers saw a known group of East-end Gang members loitering on the corner of Stratford at Wilmont Avenues. As they were approached one male, later identified as Stanley Gill DOB 5/22/2001, he saw the police vehicle and reacted by breaking away from the group. TFO saw this reaction to his presence and attempted to make contact with Gill. With this, Gill grabbed his waist area and took off, running on Wilmont through back yards towards Carrol Avenue. Task Force Officer relayed that he saw the firearm Gill was carrying as he was now in foot pursuit. Task Force Officers covered the area along with Patrol and Bridgeport Detectives. A perimeter was established by all responding units.

Once the area was secure, Task Force Officers along with Detectives and Patrol began to check the interior perimeter. At this time, Capt. Fitzgerald walked into the rear door of 437 Carrol, known as “Richies Auto Repair”. While in the main garage, Capt. Fitzgerald saw two legs sticking out from under a vehicle that was being repaired. The suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. Located on his person was a loaded Glock semi-auto firearm loaded with 11 live hollow point rounds.

The firearm was reported stolen back on 8/15/2019 in Bridgeport. Stanley Gill is currently on Adult Probation, Gill is charged with Carrying a Pistol without Permit, Illegal, Sale Delivery or Transfer of a Firearm, Stolen Firearm and Interfering. Bond was set at $250,000.
