1:39pm--#Bridgpeport CT-- Firefighters responded to a Hazmat situation at the Turnid gas station at 624 E Main Street. According to radio reports, gasoline was siphoned from the in-ground tanks and it spilled into the street. The private hazmat team can be seen using speedy-dry type to absorb the gasoline.

#Westport, CT – First Selectman Jim Marpe and Historic District Commission (HDC) Chair Francis Henkels today announced that the Bridge Street National Register District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service on April 19, 2018. Kristina-Newman Scott, State Historic Preservation Officer/Director of Culture, Arts and Historic Preservation informed Mr. Marpe of this designation (see attached). At one point it sounded like both subjects were underwater at one point and then a paddleboarder may have aided them according to radio reports.
