Connecticut State Police Holiday Enforcement
#MIDDLETOWN, CT (December 24, 2017): The Connecticut State Police are supplementing the normal patrol force with additional State Troopers throughout this Holiday weekend. The increased patrols began at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, 12/22/2017, and will conclude at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday 12/26/2017. Troopers will enforce all motor vehicle laws and focus on reducing the number of DUIs, crashes and injury-producing accidents occurring on the interstates, state roads and local roadways. Fairfield News: Cops Called On Middle Eastern Men
1:33pm--#Fairfield CT-- Police were called to the intersection of Tunxis Hill and Villa Avenue for "middle eastern men" handing something out to cars at the intersection. I stopped by and it turned out to be religious pamphlets and they appeared to be very respectful to me and the passing cars. Police agreed and let them continue.
Stratford News: Pursuit Ends In Hit And Run In Bridgeport
9:11pm--#Stratford CT--#Bridgeport CT-- A pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Stratford results in three cars hit in Bridgeport near the Bass Pro Shop. Bridgeport News: 2 Days Before Christmas City Has 23rd Homicide
9:55am--#Bridgeport CT-- #Bridgeport CT--Just before 10am two days before Christmas police received multiple calls for shots fired at Maple and Kossuth Street. Police confirmed that a man was shot outside the Maple Deli and fell through the front door. Police said the man is the city's 23rd homicide of the year, he was deceased when first responders arrived. Police are interviewing the clerk and owner of the store as well as reviewing surveillance video. One man is the suspected in the shooting. A state police K-9 was brought to the scene but left a short time later, apparently not picking up a scent in the rain.
