DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield News: Fish Truck Hits Wall/Fence

5:39pm--#Fairfield Connecticut-- It was a BIG CATCH for Conway's Towing behind Swanson Fish Market at 2439 Black Rock Turnpike. Police told me it was FISHY that the driver was allegedly GILLty of being unlicensed and FLOUNDERED, confusing the gas for the brake. The van destroyed a cinder block retaining wall (DAM) and fence. . Police also said the van was also unregistered for over a year. There were no reported injuries (no need for the CLAMbulance). Police let the man OFF THE HOOK with a ticket.

Bridgeport News: 3 Shot At Greene Homes, 7 Total On Monday

A large area was taped off as a crime scene. Shots were fired and shell casings recovered in the road in front of Junco's on Highland Avenue. A large crowd formed as could be expected and police had to deal with crowd control in addition to other duties. No official word but my sources tell me that the victims were young, ages 18-24. One was shot in the stomach, another in the upper extremities and the 3rd in the leg. My source says all three pull through.…

7:38pm--Bridgeport Connecticut--Police are investigating another shooting outside the Reservior Deli at 887 Reservoir Ave.  A female victim was transported to St. Vincent's.  Police were looking for a silver BMW that sped off from the scene but it may be the car that dropped off a man shot in the stop  at Bridgeport Hospital.   The woman's cousin and uncle came to the scene and told me her name was Nucci, this has NOT been confirmed by police.   7:38pm--#Bridgeport #Connecticut  --  La policía está investigando otro disparo fuera de Reservior Deli and 887 Reservoir ave. Large Brush Fire Begins Busy Night In Bridgeport

12:50am--#Bridgeport Connecticut-- A busy overnight starting with this very large brush fire at Wood Grinding Unlimited at 10 Barnum Dyke. The fire was first spotted a security guard at Sikorsky Aircraft on South Avenue. He flagged down a police officer who then called it in get the fire department on scene. Firefighters were challenged to get water to the scene. The fire was in a 2,000 cubic feet area, no property was in danger. Attempts to get a hold of anyone at Wood Grinding Unlimited failed and the had to get a person from public works to come in to assist with a payloader or similar machine to move the brush around. Bridgeport News: Man In Custody From Shooting Last August

4/19/2017 UPDATE: US Marshals and police have arrested 34 year old David Armstrong of Bridgeport in Orman Beach Florida.   Armstrong has been in custody last week and is now in custody in Connecticut.   He is expected to be in court on Thursday to answer the charges.   Police say they have been looking for him non-stop for the last nine months.   Police say Armstrong is refusing to cooperate with detectives.  One victim remains in critical condition after being shot in the head last August 29. 2:11am--#Bridgeport Connecticut--Police received a call of shots fired on Harral Avenue with a person down.
