12:55am–#Bridgeport News: Police investigating possible shots fired inside the Flamboyan Restaurant at East Main and Arctic Street. One person was hit by a ricochet according to radio reports.

UPDATE: Police are looking for 3 black males in gray hoodies, black pants and masks responsible for the robbery.

12:13am–#Bridgeport Connecticut– Krauser’s Food Store at 2579 Fairfield Avenue was just robbed at gunpoint.  The suspect took cash and several cartons of cigarettes before fleeing towards Ellsworth Street.

Bridgeport News: Pursuit Ends In Police Involved Shooting

6:41pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A pursuit for an alleged stolen vehicle that started near Granfield/Palisades Avenue area wound its way on Boston Avenue into Stratford ending at the dead end street of Seymour Street. Radio reports indicate a shot was fired from police when she tried to ram the police car and either a bullet fragment or glass fragment entered the woman. Chief AJ Perez reminded me that he cannot comment and protocol is that state police take over the investigation and he cannot comment. The woman’s injuries do no appear to be life threatening.

 

Stratford News: House Fire

2:02pm–#Stratford News: Firefighters on scene at 544 Wilcoxson Avenue for an outside fire that extended to the house.  The fire was put out by the homeowner with a garden hose when firefighters arrived.  The fire marshal was called to investigate.

Fairfield News: 2 Disturbances On Same Train

2:40pm–#MTA–#Fairfield Connecticut–The southbound train to New York is being delay with 2 separate disturbances. There is a woman with an “altered mental status” running up and down the 6th car. Fairfield Police dealt with her yesterday according to radio broadcasts. There is also a male on another car who has consumed too many beverages and creating a disturbance. The train is obviously delayed.

Fairfield News: 1 Person With Serious Head Trauma After Crash

UPDATE:  The operator of the electric motor scooter was identified as Robert J. Ogan , age 49 of Brooklawn Avenue in Bridgeport. He is currently in the ICU at Bridgeport Hospital listed in critical condition.

The operator of the bicycle was identified as Ricardo Carbon age 46 of Clark Street in Bridgeport. He was released yesterday afternoon from St. Vincent’s Medical Center with minor injuries.

This case is still under investigation by the Fairfield Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.

 

On 08/07/2016 at 09:12am The Fairfield Police Department responded to a medical call at the intersection Commerce Drive and Black Rock Tpke. to investigate the collision of a cyclist and an electric motor scooter.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the cyclist was traveling eastbound on Commerce Drive. A 49 year old male from Bridgeport operating an electric motor scooter was traveling westbound in the eastbound travel lane when it collided with the cyclist.  The operator of the motor scooter was transported to Bridgeport Hospital and the operator of the bicycle was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, both as a result of their injuries sustained during the collision.

This case is currently under investigation by the Fairfield Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.

 

9:30am-ish–#Fairfield Connecticut– Commerce Drive at the intersection of Black Rock Turnpike was closed for an extended period this morning as the accident investigation team investigates a crash between a bicycle and and a scooter. Police said ne person has serious head trauma. I am awaiting a press release with more details.
