#Bridgeport, Conn. (September 16, 2015) -- The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle accident involving a collision between a vehicle and a bicycle Wednesday afternoon. On September 16, 2015 at 2:05 p.m., police officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on South Ave. between the corner of Iranistan Ave. and Columbia St. Upon arrival on scene, police officers found a 2010 Toyota Prius had struck a bicycle being ridden by a ten-year-old female child. According to witnesses, a ten year old was riding a bike on the sidewalk, and then swerved out into the road where she was struck by the Prius. Cewell Sharpe (12/17/82) of Bridgeport is a possible suspect in an open homicide case.
