DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

#Norwalk CT--On December 23, 2015, Patrol Officers responded to a complaint that two males approached children exiting a school bus on Golden Hill Street. Investigating officers found that two males, wearing Santa and antler hats had approached the children and asked them to have their parents come out of their house to watch a cleaning demonstration. The children quickly left and told their parents, who called police. The men had left the area in a red van prior to police arrival. Investigating officers quickly located the van on Morton Street. Westport News: Bad Check Arrest

On 11/09/15, Westport Police investigated a report of a fraudulent check deposit at Citibank, 399 Post Road West. Artis deposited a check for $6,500.00 from an account listed to him. Artis then withdrew $6,000.00 from the account. Two days later the check was returned due to insufficient funds and Artis never made the account whole. On 12/23/15, Artis surrendered himself on an active warrant for his arrest. He posted a $7,500.00 bond and has a court date in Norwalk on 01/05/16.

Bridgeport News: Kids Get Bikes for Christmas

#Bridgeport CT-- Bikeport has partnered with ABCD to match children with bikes this holiday season.  Over sixty five bikes were given away. Bikeport Co-op is a non-profit bicycle cooperative that specializes in giving Bridgeport youth theopportunity to enjoy bicycles. During the summer Bikeport offers an earn-a-bike program for high school youth enrolled in the BuildOn program and hosts group bike rides which explore Bridgeport. Bikeport sells affordable, quality used bicycles to raise funds for its giving programs. Bikeport’s major sponsors are Patagonia Westport and IDEAS For Us, Inc. and Resource Services, Inc. has donated 20 new bikes to the Holiday Giving Event.
