Greater Fairfield County Softball Umpire Association (GFCSUA) announces it membership meeting on March 8, 2015 at St. Joseph High School Auditorium at 9:15am and new membership umpire classes, which started on March 4, 2015 and continues for four successive Wednesdays at Fairfield Ludlowe High School at 6:00pm. Those interested in umpiring high school athletic softball competitions in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference and South West Conference are required to attend rules and mechanics training classes that will be held March 11, 17, 25 and April 1 at 6:00pm. In addition, attendance at on-field training shall be required and scheduled. All new members are required to submit to and pass a Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference background check and attend GFCSUA's sensitivity training course…

Bridgeport New: Another Major Structure Fire
1:06pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters are once again on scene of a major structure fire at 108 Arctic Street, a 3 family house. First reports said the house was abandoned but witnesses told me everyone made out of the building but they did not know the status of the dogs that resided inside. The evacuation tone was heard which means all firefighters evacuated the building and make an exterior attack. All firefighters were accounted for when they held roll call. Visibility was limited due to the heavy smoke and thick air that kept the smoke close to the structure.
