His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport woman was charged with murder

A city woman was charged with murder today in connection with the May 18 incident in which a man was fatally crushed between a car and a cinderblock wall. Cherelle Baldwin, 21, of 93-95 Ash St., was charged with murder after a three-week investigation concluded that she intentionally accelerated her red Pontiac and pinned Jeffrey Brown, a man with whom she had a child, in what is viewed as a domestic homicide. Homicide in PT Barnum Housing UPDATE

12:49pm--#Bridgeport CT--Police are investigating a fatal shooting Sunday in the P.T. Barnum housing complex. Police responded to the complex at 12:49 p.m. on a report of shots fired and a possible victim on the ground near Building 11. Officers found Marquis Jacobs, 36, of Bridgeport, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Saint Vincent's Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Detectives are pursuing leads. Mr. Jacobs was the sixth homicide of 2013. The Bridgeport Police Department Detective Division has commenced a homicide investigation and is in the process of determining a motive for the shooting.
