His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

No more school shootings since CT Senate, House Approve New Gun Bill

Connecticut's Senate on Wednesday approved sweeping new restrictions on weapons and large-capacity magazines, a response to last year's deadly Newtown elementary school shooting that would give the state some of the country's tightest gun control laws. New York and Chicago had the toughest gun laws with over 400 killed in New York City and over 500 killed Chicago in 2012.  No report on how those in the hood should turn in their illegal guns or how this will prevent another Newtown incident but both parties are patting each other on the back for approval.  Republican Senator McKinney leads the way.

Monroe structure fire

2:12am--#Monroe Ct-- A fire broke out in the second floor bedroom of a home at 24 Squire Road in the Barn Hill section of Monroe around 2:30am Thursday. A first-arriving volunteer firefighter and three police officers pulled an unconscious man downstairs and out to the front lawn where he was treated by Monroe paramedics and EMTs. A woman and four children escaped on their own, while another firefighter carried the family dog out to safety. The fire was contained to the master bedroom and was quickly extinguished, but smoke filled the entire second floor of the roughly 3,500 square foot home. The man pulled from the fire regained consciousness before being transported to the hospital but the extent of his injuries are unknown. A volunteer firefighter…

Home Robbery Nets $3,000+

1:32am--#Bridgeport CT--A home robbery just occurred in the West Avenue area.  I did not get an exact address but police said it was two black males, one in a black hoodie the other in a white hoodie and fled on West Avenue.  Both had guns.  Between three to four thousand dollars in cash plus jewelry was taken.

State Senate Approves Historic Gun Bill; House Next To Act

HARTFORD — After a debate that was at moments impassioned and agonized, the state Senate Wednesday evening approved an historic and far-reaching gun-control bill that proponents said was their toughest-in-the-nation response to the Dec. 14 Newtown school massacre. Approval of the bill came at 6:38 p.m. by a 26-10 vote – with two of 22 Democrats and eight of 14 Republicans opposed. The measure was sent to the House, where approval was expected early Thursday. Fire at Taco Loco Video Report

#Bridgeport CT--#ctfire---Just after 8:30 fire broke out in an apartment above Taco Loco located at 3170 Fairfield Ave. Wednesday night.  Police were quick on the scene confirming smoke and flames on the 2nd floor and began evacuating the building.  Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the back 2nd floor window and went to work battling the blaze. The apartment is located above the kitchen, it is not certain where the fire originated, the fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate. The health inspector was also called to the scene.  The restaurant cannot reopen without the health inspectors approval.
