DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Randy told us the owner Dennis Anderson started out as a mud bogger using a 1957 Ford Pickup body. The truck was put together with what ever parts Dennis could find, competitors would kid him about that. He told them "I'll take this old junk and dig you a grave with it" and that is how they came up with the name Grave Digger came about. A themed paint job has made it a fan favorite. Fire was contained to the front door area without extending elsewhere. Fire marshal requested to the scene. ‎7:12pm--Trumbull #ctfire-- Water rescue DRILL at Kaatz Pond off Whitney Ave. This is only a drill. 12:19pm--#Fairfield--Shoplifting team broken up at Home Depot on Kings Highway. One in custody two are being tracked by police around the I-95/Sunoco/Fitness Edge area. I doubt the perps follow us on Facebook or Twitter so its safe to let you know what is happening.

Bridgeport Shooting Victim Dies

On Saturday February 25,  police were in the area of Pine Street and Bostwick Ave. and heard multiple gunshots being fired. Upon checking in the area of Club Lo on Pine Street they found two males suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics were called and the victims were transported to Bridgeport Hospital. One victim, an Anthony Small suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks. He was treated and then released. Victim Terik Williams suffered numerous gunshot wounds and was listed in serious condition. One of the bullet wounds was to the head and at that time he was placed on life support. Peter Kantorowski is getting threatening calls and death threats after news stories said he tried to evict his 98-year-old mother from her Fairfield home of almost 60 years on her birthday. But his son, Kevin Kantorowski, says his father was looking out for his mother’s welfare when he filed eviction papers and that she can stay in her Fairfield house, move in with him or go to a nursing home. A man in his early twenties ran in to the T. Market on Reservoir Ave. to ask the store owner to call him an ambulance. Police are looking for a white newer style body style Lincoln, very clean with a sun roof and out of state plates. Witnesses tell us there were at least 30 shots fired.
