‎10:18pm–Bridgeport–2 stabbing victims showed up at St. Vincent’s Hospital. It is reported they are not cooperating with police.

5:38pm–Bridgeport–A woman at 629 Washington Ave. has told police that a man she knows took her against her will at gunpoint, shot at her, tied up and tried to sexually assault her. She managed to escape and called police who are investigating.

3:22am–Bridgeport–One in custody after police pursuit from the Hollow to Iranistan Ave by the Klein Memorial. Suspect was wanted for shoplifting a cart full from Walgreens on Villa Ave. in Fairfield earlier tonight. Employees got the plate number which came back to Crowther Avenue near Showcase Cinemas in Bridgeport.

‎3:07pm-Easton #cttraffic Route 58 is closed at Norton Road and will be for quite some time. Car hit utility pole, wires & transformer down. Oil on the road from transformer.

1:24am–Bridgeport #cttraffic I-95 northbound between exits 27 and 28 pedestrians are fighting. Bridgeport police on scene breaking it up.

Spectacular Crash-Car flies 20 feet on railroad track in Bridgeport

Shortly after 2am a Bridgeport Police Officer reported that a car just flew by him at a high rate of speed. Seconds later a second officer reported that the same car literally flew by him, hitting the jersey barrier and going 20 feet into the air and landing on the railroad tracks very close to railroad workers just a couple of feet away. The speeding car hit a number of cars along Fairfield Avenue as well as hitting a car carrying children, they were rushed to nearby hospitals. As you can see the driver of the flying car was alert at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital. Bridgeport Police speculated that the car was being pursued possibly from Fairfield but we were monitoring all police traffic at the time and no pursuits were happening at the time. Train traffic was halted until after 4am as well as traffic on Fairfield Avenue near Railroad Avenue and Exit 25 of I-95. The car was removed just before 4am.

‎‎11:43pm–#Bridgeport–One arrested after striking a pedestrian on Tremont Ave. tonight.

6:30pm–#Fairfield–Firefighters on scene on the back deck on Robin Circle home for a grill that is on fire. The homeowner turned the grill of and it is still on fire.

5:38pm–#Bridgeport–An elderly woman was jumped by three teens at the corner of Grant and Prince Street. Police said they fled on foot on Summerfield towards Boston Ave. Police are looking for 1) tall black male wearing all black, 2) black girl with a purple wool hat and a 3) younger lighter skinned black male 12-15 years of age.

12:38pm–Bridgeport–Police detain one man coming out of the back of Park City Magnet School (off Chopsey Hill Rd) after alarm company indicated an intrusion.

Shots fired at news team reporting on a shooting

New Haven–A reporter and photographer for Channel 30 were sitting in their live truck, parked across the street from Cerda’s when two people walked by. The two went a little further down the block then turned, braced against a tree, and opened fire on the truck.  Four shots were fired. One hit the back of a silver car, which had just driven by the news van.      Read full story…..

Porch Fire Quickly Extinghised in Bridgeport

Fire marshal to investigate porch fire

Bridgeport–Shortly before 3pm firefighters were called to 1111 North Avenue for a fire on the 2nd floor. When firefighters arrived they saw flames coming from the right side of the porch. Their concern was the gusty winds that might fan and spread the flames. They quickly got water on the blaze and kept it from spreading. Assistant Fire Chief Dominick Carfi told us they are uncertain what caused the fire and called in the fire marshal to investigate it further. It is speculated a discarded cigarette is to blame.

2:44am–#Bridgeport–The hits keep on happening. EMTs responding to a man down, a possible assault victim at Boston and Bond Street near the GE buildings.

2:20am–#Bridgeport–Melee at Railroad and Warren Street with four trauma victims. One struck by a car with leg deformities , second patient stabbed to the abdomen, another with a laceration to his face about 4″ long and 3″ wide, and a fourth with a machete to the left side top his head.

12:38am–#Bridgeport–A 4 year old child was found by police wandering in the street of the 100 block of Mill Hill Avenue. Requesting EMT’s to check the child who appears to be fine. Numerous calls were made to police including a person from Bridgeport Mental Health Department

8:13pm–#Bridgeport–A man was just robbed and stabbed outside the Laundromat in the 1400 block of Fairfield Avenue. Police are looking for three males, 1 light skinned hispanic, husky build around 5’11”. 2 black males one wearing a blue hoodie the other two were wearing army jackets. The were seen fleeing down State Street.

6:20pm–#Bridgeport–Woman reportedly robbed and stabbed on Chestnut Street we learned was attacked from a truck driver with a shovel. The trucker did not have his trailer attached and police have quite a bit of info to possibly identify him.

‎4:36pm–Bridgeport–Newfield Avenue man tries to hide drugs “where the sun don’t shine” after an encounter with police. He was transported to booking shortly after 5pm.

Milford–Careless smoking at 20 Sharon Court caused a chair to catch fire, they thought they put the fire out, put the chair out on the porch and it re-ignited and burned the siding and up to the attic. Firefighters extinguish the blaze after the home received significant damage.

‎3:11am–Bridgeport–Police are investigating a break in at Daybreak Doughnut 941 Madison Avenue.

1:46am–Bridgeport–Report of 3 women beating up a man in the 1500 block of Stratford Ave.

‎12:11am–#Bridgeport–Shooting at Marina Village between buildings 22 and 23. Victim was brought to St. Vincents along with a large gathering of both sides of the shooting. Police quickly restored order. Witnesses tell us he was shot in the back and and upper arm.

Pickup Hits Two Cars And A House in Bridgeport

Around 10:45pm Friday night a pickup truck traveling east on James Street towards Washington Avenue hit two cars, then hit a house and bounced off and back into the road. We were told that an off duty Bridgeport Police Officer on his way home was one of the vehicles struck. There appeared to be no injuries. The driver of the pick up was seen being tested for driving impaired.

Tetreau Proposes Increase In Taxes For Fairfield

First Selectman Michael Tetreau presented to the boards of Selectmen and Finance Thursday a $272.6 million operational budget for Fiscal Year 2013 (FY2013). The proposed budget carries a 3.61 percent ($9.4 million) increase over the current budget and would, if approved as is, carry a .9 mill increase — or raise most residents’ taxes by 4 percent.  Read full story…..
