The operator of the motor vehicle was issued an infraction for failure to grant the right away. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The male asked for money and as the driver was about to drive away the homeless male took out a canister and sprayed an unknown substance believed to be pepper spray at the driver. The driver pulled into the 7-11 and called the police. He is being treated at the hospital. The suspect is a white male, 40-50 years of age with blonde/gray hair and beard with a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and sandals. He was thought to be frequent visitor at the Westport train station. MIDDLETOWN, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont announced that as companies continue navigating the impact of the ongoing, global COVID-19 pandemic, the State of Connecticut will be expanding its Shared Work program, which helps businesses in the state prevent layoffs by allowing them to temporarily reduce employee hours and use partial unemployment benefits to supplement lost wages. The program will be expanded beginning the week of October 5, 2020. Police UPDATE: At 1:58pm Fairfield Police received a call from Peoples Bank located at 1160 Kings Highway Cutoff of aBank Robbery. The Peoples Bank Branch is located within the Stop & Shop grocery store at that location.The suspect had fled prior to police arrival.Officers were dispatched and upon arrival bank employees reported just minutes’ prior, a lone whitemale (possibly Asian), described as approximately 5’7” wearing a blue mask and red hat walked up tothe teller window and handed over an envelope. On the envelope was a hand written note foremployees to cooperate, confirming it was a robbery. No weapon was shown and there was no evidenceof a weapon present.
