Bridgeport, CT –The Department of Public Health is urging residents to “Fight the Flu.”  Any resident without insurance can schedule an appointment to receive a flu shot at the Communicable Disease Clinic, 752 East Main Street Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Residents with insurance can present their insurance card to any CVS or Walgreens pharmacy and get the flu vaccine free of charge.  Health Director Lisa Morrissey is encouraging residents to get vaccinated.  “This year, it is even more important to get your flu shot. Trumbull Mall Shooter Surrenders After 6 Hour Standoff

#Trumbull CT-- #Bridgeport CT-- Shortly after 7pm Trumbull Police were notified of a robbery and gunshot at the Zales Store in the Westfield Mall on Main Street. A lone male entered the store brandishing a handgun which he used to shatter glass display case. While doing this, the gun apparently discharged one bullet. The man grabbed several gold chains and fled on foot. No one was injured in the incident. Officers spotted the fleeing car at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Anton Street in Bridgeport where he crashed. The driver was believed to still have the firearm used in the robbery with him. Bridgeport Schools To Switch To Remote Learning

BRIDGEPORT, CT – Superintendent Mike Testani today announced that the Bridgeport Public Schools will shift to remote learning on Monday, November 23, 2020.   The announcement comes in response to an increase in persons impacted or testing positive with the COVID-19 virus.   The decision to start remote learning on the 23rd was in consultation with the Superintendent, the city’s health director, as well as other city leaders including the BOE. Guns And Ammo Confiscated

On October 6th, 2020 Bridgeport Task Force Officers assigned to the CSP Gang Unit / FBI Safe Streets, ATF and Stratford Police Narcotics Unit worked a joint operation.  The target of the operation was a Kevin Lopez, Aka “Cano” who was residing and running his illegal operation out of 179 Columbus Avenue in Stratford, CT.  Task Force Officers obtained a Search and Seizure Warrant for the residence.  Working jointly, Officers were able to detain both Kevin Lopez and his girlfriend, Stephanie Gonzalez.  Both Lopez and Gonzalez have a minor juvenile child together.
