Bridgeport News: Man Shot Inside His Home From Outside Gunfire

11:30PMish--# Witnesses said it sounded like automatic gunfire the shots were fired so close together.  The gunfire appeared to be targeting a home in the 500 block of Harral Avenue with bullet holes in the home and cars parked in the driveway.  A man inside the home was hit in the shoulder as the bullets entered the home.  He was transported to the hospital,   Shell casings were found on the driveway behind Greene Homes from Washington Avenue.

Bridgeport News: Pursuit Into Stratford

2:02pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A silver Audi attempted to run down police officers and engaged them in pursuit on Stratford Avenue onto I-95.  The Audi got off exit 33 on Ferry Boulevard and then crashed at East Broadway at Willow Avenue near the Spruce Goose Diner.  One suspect was quickly apprehended.  The second suspect was apprehended a short time later.   This news report is made possible by:

Bridgeport News: Funding Available For Landowner Impacted By Hurricanes

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim is announcing that The United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service has been granted funding that will help landowners with property who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy and Irene. “I am pleased to know that our coastal homeowners are being offered this funding to provide options moving forward. The money will help homeowners who were severely impacted by the hurricanes and give then an alternative, rather than reside in the path of a future storm,” said Mayor Ganim. The City of Bridgeport EOC is monitoring the potential storm tracks for tonight into tomorrow, especially with the slight risk of Flash Flooding. Here is an update concerning the flash flooding threat for late tonight and Friday morning.   As low pressure approaches from the Mid-Atlantic region late tonight and passes over or just south of New York City and Long  Island on Friday, rain could become heavy at times from late tonight into Friday morning.
