Bridgeport Man Arrested in 2023 Ansonia Shots Fired Case

2025-06-29@Ansonia CT – Xavier Glover, 23, of Bridgeport was arrested on June 29, 2025, in connection to a June 2023 shots fired investigation in Ansonia. Officers had responded to reports of gunfire near Orchard Street and South Street on June 14, 2023. Following an investigation, Glover was identified as a suspect and an arrest warrant was issued. He was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit. Glover was held on a $100,000 bond and arraigned in Derby Superior Court on June 25, 2025.

Bridgeport Police Investigate Two Shootings and Chase Tied to Gun Violence

At approximately 7:21 PM, a ShotSpotter activation alerted officers to 12 rounds fired near the 40–50 block of Sheridan Street. Responding officers located a crime scene, and shortly after, two male victims—ages 26 and 18—arrived at Bridgeport Hospital. Both underwent surgery and were previously listed in critical condition. The Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Detective Timothy Leonard is leading the investigation. Crash With Extrication & DUI-UPDATE

A crash at Fairfield Avenue and Clarkson Street in Bridgeport on Tuesday ended with one driver in the hospital and another in handcuffs. Police say one vehicle was empty when they arrived. The other had a driver trapped inside, who was extricated and taken to St. Vincent’s with unknown injuries. The unoccupied vehicle’s driver, 47-year-old Mark Coover of Bridgeport, asked to move his car—but instead tried to flee. Officers stopped him, and after a brief foot chase, he was arrested.
