Bridgeport News: Shooting Victim

12:40am--#Bridgeport CT--A police officer at Bridgeport Hospital called in that a shooting victim has just arrived at the hospital, brought in by his nephew.  There were reports of earlier of shots fired near 540 Grand Street.  EMS just cautioned their drivers of one of the ambulance bays being closed off as a crime scene.  Police say they are looking for a gray Monte Carlo responsible for the shooting.   This report sponsored by:

Bridgeport News: Deck Fire

11:38am---#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were called to the condos at 2675 Park Avenue for back deck fire.  The fire was thought have been started by a gas grill.  Firefighters were very quick to the scene because they were already on the road with their ongoing Smoke Detector Awareness Program.  It is actually called the The “Safe Asleep” program which  began in 2005 as a partnership between the city fire department and RYASAP. Residents in need of smoke alarms can call 203-335-8835, and the fire department will install it for free.

This week, the State Bond Commission announced that it is scheduled to approve $9 million to assist the waterfront development at its next meeting on Monday, May 11, 2015 . Bridgeport Fire Leaves 7 Homeless

7:33pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were called to 335 Wilmont Avenue for a porch fire. When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke and fire on the back porch. The winds helped the fire jump to another house next to it. The bulk of the fire remained at 335 Wilmont Avenue, firefighters report all three floors heavily engulfed in flames. Fire quickly broke through the roof and a partial roof collapse prompted the firefighters to call the evacuation tones which are the fire truck horn blasts you heard at the beginning of the video.
