1:55am–#Bridgeport CT– Three people were sent to the hospital after a shooting outside Pleasant Moments Oasis on William Street.  One person I know was shot in the leg and transported to Bridgeport Hospital by a private vehicle.  According to radio reports one woman was passed out and I head at the scene the third victim yelling my leg, my leg!  Police heard the shots prior to the calls to 911 and it may have come from the Washington Avenue Bridge area.

This is breaking news and I have not officially talked to police at this time.  All information is subject to change.  Check with WTNH-8 in the morning for updates.

Bridgeport News: Structure Fire

On September 9, 2015 at 6:43 a.m., firefighters responded to a call regarding smoke in the area of Berkshire Ave. and Pembroke St.  At the scene, firefighters found a multi-family home at 511 Berkshire Ave.

The rear of the building had heavy fire on all three floors. Four civilians exited the building shortly after firefighters arrived. Firefighters then performed a search of the building and found no one inside. Firefighters fought the fire for a time until crews had to be pulled out for an exterior operation.  Once the fire was under control, firefighters returned to the inside of the building to extinguish the remaining fire. More than 30 firefighters were dispatched to tackle the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries of civilians or firefighters have been reported. 12 adults and 9 children were displaced because of the fire. American Red Cross is responding to help those displaced.
