Bridgeport News: 2 Shooting Incidents

Bridgeport, Conn. (September 16, 2015) — Today, Bridgeport Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding shots fired near the corner of Daniels Ave. and Trumbull Ave.  Upon arrival at the reported scene, police officers did not find a victim or suspect. The location of the alleged incident is not too far from several schools, and, as a matter of precaution, following the 911 call about the alleged incident police called for a temporary lockdown of Hallen School, Park City Magnet School, and Wilbur Cross School. The lockdown at each school was lifted minutes after police arrived at the alleged scene only to find no trace of a victim or suspect. Detectives are actively investigating the alleged incident and reviewing camera footage from the area. Anyone with information regarding this alleged incident should contact the Bridgeport Police Department at (203) 581-5201.

Bridgeport, Conn. (September 16, 2015) — The Bridgeport Police Department is asking for public assistance in locating a shooting suspect following a non-fatal incident last night. At 10:25 p.m., police officers responded to a call regarding an alleged shooting incident in the area of Norman St. & Hanover St. Upon arrival on the scene, police officers found a 31 year-old male who suffering from two non-fatal gunshot wounds to the right forearm and the right calf. The victim was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, and he’s in stable condition.  Detectives are actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Bridgeport Police Department at (203) 581-5201.

Connecticut Post Endorses Mayor Finch’s Re-Election Bid

After accusing Mayor Finch of suppressing  the news until after the election the Connecticut Post endorses the mayor.

Bridgeport, Conn. (September 13, 2015) — Today, the CT Post — the state’s second largest newspaper — endorsed Mayor Bill Finch’s re-election bid in Bridgeport, Conn.
In an editorial titled, “Finch has kept momentum in Bridgeport,” the publication’s editorial board asserted that Mayor Finch’s leadership has the city moving in the right direction.
I guess that explains why we have a bigger audience!
