Holding Tickets To President’s Cancelled Visit?

Those who were planning to attend tonight’s rally will have priority to attend when the President returns later in the campaign by visiting a Democratic Party field office, dropping off their tickets, and providing their contact information. Bridgeport News: Street Closures For Presidential Visit

The City of Bridgeport is advising drivers and residents of street closures and parking restrictions before and during a visit by President Barack Obama to the Park City. A mandatory on-street parking ban will be in effect on Capitol Avenue, between Lindley Street and Park Avenue; on Lincoln Boulevard and on Taft Avenue betweenMadison Avenue and Park Avenue on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014. Started at 3 p.m., any vehicle parked on these streets will be towed. The parking ban lasts until 10 p.m. Residents are advised to find available parking on side streets. These streets also will be closed to vehicular traffic. Motorists also are advised to avoid Main Street and Madison Avenue if possible. 4:49pm--#Bridgeport CT--Bridgeport Police are investigating another shooting, this time a Union and Stratford Avenue.  The responsible shooter fled in a dark colored car, possibly a Honda.  This is the cities 3rd shooting in 24 hours. Bridgeport Police Investigate 2 Shootings, 1 A Homicide

#Bridgeport CT--Just before noon police received a call for a person down at Pearl and Brooks Street where a "personal fight" occurred and resulted in a man being shot and killed according to Bridgeport Police Joseph L. Gaudett, Jr. An anonymous source say the man shot was robbing local drug dealers but this has not been confirmed. Police have a 17 year old male in custody as a possible suspect.   This is the city's 9th homicide of the year. Less than ten minutes later a second call came in for shots fired at Washington Park. Man Charged With Manslaughter in Connection With Fatal Hit and Run

#Bridgeport, CT -- Oct. 13, 2014-- Detectives have charged a city man with first-degree manslaughter in connection with an Aug. 9 fatal hit-and-run motor-vehicle incident.Dennis Berrios, 36, surrendered to police after being informed of a warrant for his arrest.He faces charges of first-degree manslaughter, attempted first-degree manslaughter and criminal mischief in connection with a warrant secured by Detective Heitor Teixeira.Berrios was charged hitting 21-year-old Tyron Tate on Aug. 9 with his Chevrolet Avalanche as Tate was crossing the street with a second male on Noble Avenue. Berrios then left the scene.Tate later was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital.The warrant was secured based on information compiled by the detective bureau, the department's serious accident squad and patrol officers.At the scene, police encountered a large crowd and…

6:59pm--#Bridgeport CT #Fairfield CT--Bridgeport Police were in pursuit  of a car wanted for a narcotics violations until it entered Fairfield on Stratfield Avenue.  Fairfield Police also entered the pursuit but also broke off the pursuit in the Putting Green Road area.  Police are looking for a dark blue Ford Explorer.   There may be a weapon inside the car.
