Police Charge Man in 2011 Cold Case Homicide

  (Bridgeport, CT – May 8, 2014) – A cold case investigation led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man in connection with the 2011 fatal shooting of his longtime girlfriend. Abimael Ramos, who currently is jailed on unrelated drug charges, was charged today with murder in connection with the fatal shooting on May 23, 2011, of Luz Morales at the Wood Avenue apartment that they shared. Man Injured During Attempted Robbery

  (Bridgeport, CT – May 5, 2014) – A city man faces charges in connection with an attempted robbery and assault Sunday Officers William Arroyo and Omar Jimenez responded to the area of Fairfield and West avenues at 5:23 p.m. and encountered the victim, David DeJesus, 51, of Bridgeport, who stated that a male later identified as Carlos Delgado, 58, of Bridgeport, approached him and demanded money from his wallet. The victim declined to turn over money and the two got into a physical altercation, during which Dejesus was cut in the face with a knife. He declined medical treatment. Delgado was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault and held on a $10,000 bond.

Man Injured in Family Dispute

  (Bridgeport, CT – May 5, 2014) – A 33-year-old man was injured during a fight stemming from a family  dispute. Officer Benita Bailey responded to 17 Florence St. on Sunday just after 8 p.m. Police encountered the victim and other family members who were involved. Police learned that one man, 33-year-old Kent Woods, had been stabbed by a known party and that pepper spray had been discharged during the family dispute. His injuries were not life threatening. The suspect fled before police arrived. The incident remains under investigation.
