Fairfield News: ATM Break In Attempt In Fairfield Hills

Police Update:  Police 911 (ECC) received an alarm call for 1899 Bronson Road for a forced entry into the Fairfield County Bank ATM room.Armed Alarm Response representative was on scene.  He stated he did a check of the area and did not see anything but did find the door to the back room of the ATM had been forced open. Officers observed the metal door to the back room had been bent and was no longer secure.

Upon opening the door, I observed a security camera that was facing towards the ceiling and multiple wires within the room had been cut.  It did not appear the ATM vault had been entered.

 

10:10pm–#Fairfield Connecticut– Police are investigating an attempted robbery of the Fairfield County Bank ATM and J. Russell Jinishian Gallery at 1899 Bronson Road.

Fairfield News; Police Manhunt After Assault

10:09pm–#Fairfield CT– There is a manhunt  for a man who assaulted his girlfriend, threw her out of her car and took off in it from the parking lot of Coromandel Cuisine of India in Southport at 17 Pease Avenue, Southport.  He returned the car and he fled on foot  just before police arrived.  K-9 and police are searching the area.  #southport

I-95 Crash

4:00pm–#Fairfield Connecticut– Firefighters on scene of a crash on I-95 northbound AND southbound between exits 23 and 24.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find the driver of a white sedan who was traveling southbound fled the scene after his wheel came off the car and smashing the windshield of a car traveling in the northbound lane.  K-9 was called in as fresh tracks in the snow was located on Sunset Avenue but the track was lost a short time later.

Fairfield News: Smoke Condition At Assumption School

8:32am–#Fairfield Connecticut– Firefighters were called to a smoke condition at Assumption School at 605 Stratfield Road.  said they evacuated the school in to the church hall so the kids would not be exposed to the cold.  Firefighters discovered it was a motor to ventilation unit that burnt out causing the smoke condition.  Conditions were compounded as it was drop off time for the students and the “firefighters were pressed into becoming traffic cops” to help alleviate the situation Gomola said.  Firefighters quickly discovered the faulty motor and disconnected it.  Firefighters metered the entire school and found no unusual readings.  Classes resumed and the heating and air conditioning contractor was called to the school to replace the motor.

Fairfield News: Beautiful Solution to Water Pollution

There will be a three part series at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road to learn about a Beautiful Solution to Water Pollution.

At 7 p.m. on March 27 learn how a watershed works. Discover better ways for your garden to handle water and drought. On April 3 at 7 p.m. there will be instruction on how to create a rain garden. A landscape architect will lead us through the planning process of building a rain garden. The final session will be on Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m. Join us on Earth Day at the hands-on workshop and make use of all you have learned.

Fairfield News: ATM Skimmer Found

2:09pm–#Fairfield Connecticut– Fairfield Police confirm an ATM skimming device was found on the ATM at the Cumberland Farms at 975 Kings Hwy East.  The device was believed to have been installed sometime after 11pm last night.  If you have used this ATM you need to call your bank.  Police will be checking surveillance video for the person responsible.

Fairfield News: $10k in Jewelry Taken

#Fairfield Connecticut–Homeowner in the 200 block of Morehouse Highway reports a burglary. The homeowner stated sometime between 7:15am and 8:30pm  on 3/7/17, someone entered her residence through the side door. Homeowner said when she came home at 2030 hours on 3/7/17 she noticed her dog was locked in the basement which she did not do before she left the house. She assumed that one of her children may have lost their key and had to enter the house.

At approximately  9:00am Sunday, she went to a cabinet where she keeps her jewelry and noticed her jewelry was missing. A Tiffany jewelry bag containing several pieces of jewelry, along with a small wooden jewelry box which contained assorted jewelry. Total value is approx. $10,000.
