Fairfield News: Shopping Cart Attended Injured

3:14pm–First responders attend to a shopping cart attended at Stop and Shop on Villa Avenue who was struck by a BMW that fled the scene.  A witness did get a plate number which came back to a BMW who’s registration had expired.   Police are investigating.  The extent of his injuries are not known at this time.

Fairfield News: No Means No. Sexual Assault at Sacred Heart

#Fairfield CT– #sacredheart–Frank Anthony Sapienza (DOB 07/03/96) was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault 4th degree (53a- 73a) after a female victim reported unwanted sexual contact by kissing and groping her, after she allegedly told him to stop multiple times.

 

Victim #1 contacted Sacred Heart University Public Safety to report that she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male (Later identified as Frank Anthony Sapienza 07/03/96) who was dressed in a police officer Halloween costume at 5151 Park Avenue (Sacred Heart University).  The suspect, Frank Anthony Sapienza also admitted that he did not stop immediately after he was asked to do so by Victim #1. Unknown if the victim attends the school. Based on Sapienza admitting to not stopping when Victim #1 told him to and statements from multiple witnesses on scene corroborating Victim#1’s account of the incident, Sapienza was placed under arrest for violating C.G.S 53a-73a: Sexual Assault 4th degree. Sapienza was initially held on a 1,000.00 dollar bond, but was released this morning after posting bond.

1:11am–#Fairfield CT–State Police received a number of 911 calls about a car being pushed off the highway and down an embankment, first thought to be around the North Benson Street area. Police quickly found the car near the on ramp northbound at exit 21. Many witnesses said it was a gray pickup truck which Fairfield Police quickly located at Grasmere and Post Road. The driver was arrested. I have no word on the condition of the other driver by a witness said they quickly had him in the ambulance taken to the hospital.


Fairfield News: Motorcyclist Injured

2:09pm–#Fairfield CT– A motorcyclist was injured after being hit by a car on Melville Avenue.  Witnesses told me the car was turning onto Melville Avenue from Old Stratfield Road striking the motorcyclist.  They said they had to chase down the driver who did stop.  They said they don’t think the driver knew they hit the biker who received arm, shoulder and head injuries according to radio reports.  Police are investigating.

 

Fairfield News: 3 Cars Broken Into During The Game

12:05am–#Fairfield CT– Three cars were broken in to during the game at Tunxis Hill Park on Melville Avenue Saturday afternoon.  One car had the window smashed, and a briefcase with a wallet containing $150 taken.  The other vehicles had purses and other personal items taken.

Fairfield News: Commerce Drive Closed

4:39pm–#Fairfield CT– Commerce Drive in front of the Audi dealer is closed to traffic due to a large leak of hydraulic fluid.  It appears the truck delivering cars leaked the fluid as police were checking his paperwork out at the scene.  Firefighters on scene requested 20 more bags of speedy dry to the scene.  If you need get to the post office access it from the Bridgeport side.

Fairfield News: Police Thanks By Students and Parents

#Fairfield News:  Police this morning were greeted Monday morning  to notes and homemade goodies from parents and students.  Lieutenant James Perez said it is always nice to be thanked for a job well done.  Officer Lance Newkirchen said “our police training division is now incorporating school safety scenarios in everything that we are doing now as opposed to some of the more traditional scenarios from years ago  that did not involve the schools” and “we have an extremely progressive Police Department where we don’t want to come in second in any category we want to be first and when it comes to school safety that’s what we are aiming for and that’s why we spend so much time thinking about it in training”.  The students and parents couldn’t agree more!
