Eerie Connecticut—Is it Local Myth or Mystery?

[Fairfield, Conn., October 13, 2015] Indulge your Halloween spirit by attending an interestinglecture, Eerie Connecticut: Local Myth and Mystery, at the Fairfield Public Library WoodsBranch, 1147 Fairfield Woods Drive at 6:00 pm on Monday, October 26.

Robert Nelson will explore the unexplainable and the unbelievable history of the Fairfield WitchTrials; the ghostly “White Lady” of Monroe; and Dudleytown, the “most haunted place onEarth!” Nelson holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont’s Goddard College and has created andtaught classes at Yale’s English language Institute.

Southport News: Pedestrian Killed by Train

Metro North Railroad is reporting: The New Haven Line continued scattered residual delays of up to 30 mins due to earlier police activity near. Southport.

UPDATE: Fairfield Police told me that it was a woman who attempted to jump in front of a southbound train but the train was able to stop in time.  She then was struck by a northbound Amtrak train headed to Boston.   Metro North has taken over the investigation.

1:57pm–#Metronorth–#Southport CT–A pedestrian has been struck and killed while on the tracks at the Southport Train Station.  Currently on track one is operational.

 

Fairfield News: Man Found Dead On Golf Course

3:33pm–#Fairfield CT– Fairfield Police confirm a middle aged man possibly homeless found dead on the 13th hole at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course.  Detectives are on scene investigating.  It is too early for any identification on the man it was NOT a golfer.

Fairfield News: Tampered Smoke Detector Sends Firefighters

11:42pm–#Fairfield CT– A male in wearing a scarf tampers with a smoke detector  in Faber Hall at Fairfield University setting off the alarm which then sent the Fairfield Firefighters to the scene to investigate the alarm according to radio reports.
