Daniel Ferreira (DOB 11/07/1971) was arrested for three counts of Possession of Narcotics, CGS. 21a- 279(a), Possession of Narcotics With the Intent to Sell, CGS. 21a-277(a), Failure to Display a Front Registration Plate, CGS. 14-21b(c), Misuse of Plates, CSG. 14-147c, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, CGS. 14-213b, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, CGS. 14-12(a)*, and Drinking While Operating a Motor Vehicle, CGS. 53a-213, after a motor vehicle stop was conducted for an equipment violation.

On May 20th, 2015 at 0106 hrs. Fairfield Police observed a black BMW 528i, bearing CT reg. 472RYR, traveling northbound on Querida Street without a front registration plate displayed. a motor vehicle stop and a DMV check on CT reg. 472RYR revealed no record found. The vehicle was not registered. The lone driver identified as Ferreira had a ban open beer bottle in between his legs. He admitted to drinking and driving without a registration and  insurance. The male was identified as Daniel Ferreira by his Connecticut operator license. While checking Ferreira a folding knife and a baggy containing a white powdery substance were in his pants pocket. Within the vehicle a hidden compartment revealed a large amount of cash and multiple bags of pills identified as oxycodone. The pills were found within a cigarette box inside the hidden compartment within the cars dashboard.

Daniel was placed under arrest for three counts of Possession of Narcotics, CGS. 21a-279(a), Possession of Narcotics With the Intent to Sell, CGS. 21a-277(a), Failure to Display a Front Registration Plate, CGS. 14-21b(c), Misuse of Plates, CSG. 14-147c, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, CGS. 14-213b, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, CGS. 14-12(a)*, and Drinking While Operating a Motor Vehicle, CGS. 53a-213. Daniel was issued a Misdemeanor Summons (MC166762) for the motor vehicle and drinking charges. Daniel was released on a PTA for those charges. Daniel was released on a $250 cash bond for the drug charges. The vehicle was towed to  headquarters.  Daniel is scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court, 172 Golden Hill street, on June 1st, 2015 at 0900 hrs.

Fairfield Police Need Your Help

The Fairfield Police are seeking assistance in identifying a subject who committed an assault on a patron of Anna Liffy’s restaurant/bar 1494 Post Road, Fairfield, on the evening of 4/4/15, (Saturday night into Easter). The victim, who was sitting at the bar with a friend, engaged in a minor altercation with the suspect. Following that incident, the suspect walked away. Moments later, the suspect returned and struck the victim in side of the face from behind. The suspect then continued the attack on the victim as he lay on the floor until employees intervened. The suspect is described as a white male, college age, approximately 5’7” with a stocky build and dark hair. Below is an artist rendering of the suspect based on witness descriptions.
