Fairfield Police Need Your Help

The Fairfield Police are seeking assistance in identifying a subject who committed an assault on a patron of Anna Liffy’s restaurant/bar 1494 Post Road, Fairfield, on the evening of 4/4/15, (Saturday night into Easter). The victim, who was sitting at the bar with a friend, engaged in a minor altercation with the suspect. Following that incident, the suspect walked away. Moments later, the suspect returned and struck the victim in side of the face from behind. The suspect then continued the attack on the victim as he lay on the floor until employees intervened. The suspect is described as a white male, college age, approximately 5’7” with a stocky build and dark hair. Below is an artist rendering of the suspect based on witness descriptions.

Merritt Crash

UPDATE: First responders reporting a 3 car crash, no entrapment but there are 5 people injured and additional ambulances have been dispatched to the scene.

7:16pm–#cttraffic–#Fairfield CT–Merritt Parkway southbound between exits 44 and 42 a rollover crash with people still trapped in the car according to radio reports.  First responders on the way.

“Burning” Schools

12:11am–#Bridgeport CT– #Fairfield CT–Bridgeport Firefighters called to John Winthrop Middle School on Eckert Street for a fire, then the caller said it was in the back of the school.  Firefighters on scene can’t find anything.  At the same time Fairfield Firefighters were called to Fairfield University for a burning electrical outlet  outside Layola Gate.  Firefighters confirm they found a burning outlet in a mulch pile.

Fairfield News: Police Activity

#Fairfield CT–Police activity near Starbucks area.  Police first received a call for two suspicious males on Sanford Street.  Police then received a call for two different males leaving behind backpacks near the Subway on Post Road by a passerby.  The police could not locate the backpacks police called the passerby back and she said the backpacks are gone but there is a woman’s purse in the parking lot behind Subway.  Police tracked it to a real estate agent nearby, possibly stolen from her car.  Police are tracking the two males in connection from Sanford Street in connection to this call.  Police have had sightings on Phillips and Thorpe Street.  Description is vague, two Hispanic males dressed in black.

Fairfield News: Man Arrested For Lewd Conduct At Train Station

12:15am–#Fairfield CT–Sergeant Michael Paris is seen here taking Thomas Wilkes in custody  for alleged lewd acts at the train station.  Wilkes was seen by three woman who called police and  said Wilkes was in a stairwell at the Metro Train Station with his pants down, groaning and pleasuring himself on Frank Street side of the station.  Wilkes then hoped on a train and got off  at the downtown train station where Officer Mark Letsch caught up with him.  Wilkes is supposedly from Westport but is thought to be homeless.  The three woman did not press charges because they did not miss their train.  Wilkes was charged with breach of peace and release on a promise to appear in court later this month.

Fairfield News: Suspect Nabbed In Moped Theft At Metro Station

2:11pm–#Fairfield CT–Fairfield have one suspect in custody caught taking off with a stolen moped at the Metro Train Station on the Frank Street side.  Police have a man matching the description, the police are going to verify twith video from the train station, regardless, the man has two outstanding warrants for him.

Fairfield News: 2nd Fatal Crash in 3 Hours

#Fairfield CT–Fairfield Fire Department Press Release:

Shortly after returning from a fatal motor vehicle accident on I-95 Fairfield Firefighters responded to another  motor vehicle accident with injury on Black Rock Turnpike at the intersection with Burroughs Road.  A passenger vehicle collided with a tractor trailer trapping the unconscious driver inside his heavily damaged vehicle.   Fairfield Firefighters from Engine 2 and 3, Ladders 1 and 2, used the Jaws of Life gain access to the elderly operator and remove him from the vehicle. Life support efforts were initiated by AMR Paramedics assisted by Fairfield Firefighters on scene and enroute to St. Vincent’s MC.

 

According to Asst. Chief Gomola, the incident commander “The driver of the passenger vehicle was in extremely critical condition at the time emergency crews arrived on scene.  Police, Fire, and EMS worked together to provide lifesaving emergency medical treatment and rapid extrication.  Excellent work delivered with the highest level of professionalism was done by all.”

 

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Fairfield Police Department.  Black Rock Turnpike in the area of Burroughs Road was closed for the investigation.
