Governor Dannel P. Housing Authorities in Bridgeport, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford receive millions in HUD funds

Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04) celebrated the news that the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced $23.4 million dollars in funding to housing authorities across the State of Connecticut. Four areas in the 4th District received a total of $6,268,644 divided as follows:   Housing Authority of the City of Bridgeport - $3,876,098 New Canaan Housing Authority - $25,523 Housing Authority of the City of Norwalk - $1,272,166 Housing Authority of the City of Stamford - $1,094857   The grants announced today are provided through HUD’s Capital Fund Program, which is aimed at supporting renovation and modernization for housing authorities throughout the country. Dangerous Cold

Good early Saturday morning... These are some of the warning headlines from the NWS this morning. This will be by far the colds temps we have seen in the last 5-10 years. Heed the warnings... the only good thing is it only lasts for 36 hours and then we will see this polar air exit stage right. Lots of model agreement and disagreement for the Early week storm. Access Health Has Strong Enrollment In The State

#Hartford, CT – Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, Chair of the Board of Access Health CT (AHCT), and AHCT CEO Jim Wadleigh today announced that 116,019 consumers purchased healthcare coverage through Access Health CT during the 2016 Open Enrollment Period.  This represents the strongest enrollment period the state has seen since the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.   “This is good news for Connecticut,” said Lt. Wish Granted On Truck Restoration

On Saturday February 6th, Wish Kid Nick Cesarini of Greenwich, Connecticut saw his one true wish become a reality. Through Make-A-Wish Connecticut, Nick’s wish to have his truck “jazzed up” was granted, with the assistance and leadership from Red Line Restorations of Bridgeport. Nick has battled a life-threatening kidney condition that has often away from his normal routine and replaced it with doctors, hospitals, and medical treatments. But having his truck updated was something that he knew would put a smile on his face. Unknown to Nick, the team at Red Line Restorations, led by owner Colton Amster, recruited other businesses to help with the project, including a fixed transmission and other significant updates.
