The Norwalk Police Department is investigating an evading accident that occurred on July 31, 2019, at the Shorehaven Mobile Gas Station at 219 East Avenue. State Police Arrest Man Following Incident at DMV

#Norwalk, CT (August 22, 2019): Connecticut State Police Troop G responded this morning to the Norwalk branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles after a DMV employee phoned police. The employee reported that a customer had allegedly made statements saying, "Today seems like a good day to shoot to kill" and also suggested that he would come back another time. The DMV immediately contacted Connecticut State Police. As a result of the investigation,   Gregory Plaia, date of birth 5/16/1964, of North Canaan, CT was arrested and charged with Breach of Peace 2nd Degree and Threatening 2nd Degree. Plaia was processed and later released after posting a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on 9/13/2019…

Norwalk, CT- Norwalk Police Chief Thomas Kulhawik and Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent-In-Charge Brian C. Turner, announce the arrest of Brandon Wagshol, 22 of Norwalk. Wagshol was arrested on August 15, 2019 and charged with 4 counts of Illegal Possession of Large Capacity Magazines.   The Federal Bureau of Investigation National Threat Operations Center (NTOC) received a tip that Wagshol was attempting to purchase large capacity rifle magazines from out of state. The FBI and the Norwalk Police Department began a joint investigation based upon this information. Norwalk News: Gym Owner Accused Of Sexual Assault

Norwalk, CT- Norwalk Detectives arrested Jose “Calasanz” Martinez, 66 of Norwalk at police headquarters today. Martinez turned himself in on active warrant that charges him with Sexual Assault 4. Norwalk Detectives received complaint from the female victim on July 28, 2019. The victim stated that she was assaulted July 27, 2019, while exercising at the Calasanz Martial Arts and Fitness Studio at 507 Westport Avenue.   The victim stated that while doing core strengthening at his studio, Martinez sexually assaulted her and attempted to have intercourse with her. Based upon the investigation an arrest warrant was issued for Jose Martinez. Norwalk Murder Investigation

#Norwalk CT--On August 8, 2019 at 12:59am, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a man had been stabbed at 39 Fairfield Avenue. Arriving Patrol Division Officers located the male in an apartment and began rendering aid. The male was transported to the Norwalk Hospital by ambulance, where he succumb to his injuries.   Norwalk Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The victim is identified as Michael Moody, 29 of 39 Fairfield Avenue Norwalk. Sheldon Frierson was identified as a person interest in Mr. Moody’s death.
