#Trumbull CT--While the Trumbull Public Schools were closed for the spring vacation this week, police used the empty buildings to conduct emergency response training, with staged scenarios, live actors, and props all to depict real life situations that the officers may encounter at any time. All Trumbull Patrol officers participated in the training, which included the use of the police cadets and other student volunteers as the actors. Various weapons and blank ammunition also created the deafening sounds inside a building as the officers responded quickly to locate the source and intervene. Trumbull News: Student Arrested For threats Against School

#Trumbull CT-- On March 14, 2018, a juvenile was arrested by Trumbull Police after the student made an online threat of a shooting with the intended target being Trumbull High School. Trumbull Police was notified of the incident when concerned students and staff members approached a school resource officer with evidence of the threat on a social media site. The student had posted the threat to “shoot up” the high school along with other remarks about the school. Police and school officials took immediate action and detained the student, a 16-year-old female. Upon further investigation, a photo of the student was also linked to the threat, which showed the student holding what appeared to be a handgun. Police then located…

Route 25 Pursuit

UPDATE: The pursuit came to an end with a possible crash in Monroe on Route 25 near Victoria Drive.  There is a report of a police officer with minor injuries.  Bridgeport, Trumbull, Monroe and State Police were in the slow speed pursuit.  There was no mention of what department the officer was from. 1:27am--#cttraffic--#Bridgeport CT--#Trumbull CT-- A slow speed pursuit on Route 25 northbound.  The pursuit started in Bridgeport near Washington Avenue.  The car refused to stop and hit a curb causing the car's wheel to wobble hence the slow speeds.  They are near exit 7 at this post.

Trumbull News: Police Arrest Man On Stolen Firearm Charges

Police served an arrest warrant on a 20-year-old Trumbull resident after locating a stolen firearm in his home during a search. Christopher Ronnow of Doe Hollow Road in Trumbull was arrested after an investigation determined that he was found to be in possession of a handgun which was reported stolen. The gun was located while detectives were serving a search warrant at Ronnow’s home for an unrelated incident that occurred earlier in Trumbull. After locating the gun, Trumbull Detectives obtained assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms. The ATF performed a “trace” on the gun, which led to the discovery that the gun was reported stolen in March of 2017 from Pennsylvania. Christopher Ronnow was charged with Theft…

Trumbull News: A Parent Saves Student With CPR

6:34pm--#Trumbull CT-- A fourteen-year-old student with a history of cardiac issues collapsed in the gymnasium at Trumbull Avenue at 72 Strobel Road.  A parent wasted no time and provided CPR.  When Trumbull EMS arrived they reported the girl was conscious and breathing.  When I arrived the gym was empty and the trainer and coaches were afraid to talk to reporters.  If anyone knows this hero student please have them contact me at Steve@DoingItLocal.com good news report!

Local Recipients of Youth Services Prevention Grants

BRIDGEPORT—Senator Marilyn Moore (D-Bridgeport), Senator Ed Gomes (D-Bridgeport), and Representatives Christopher Rosario (D-Bridgeport),  and Ezequiel Santiago (D-Bridgeport), are happy to announce that 14 nonprofit organizations that provide direct services and programming to youth in the Greater Bridgeport area have been selected to receive state Youth Service Prevention (YSP) grants totalling $328,125 for 2018. The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch awards YSP grants to nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies for youth programs. Organizations are nominated by members of the General Assembly’s Black and Puerto Rican Caucus (BPRC), of which Bridgeport’s Sen. Moore, Sen. Gomes, Rep. Rosario, Rep. Santiago, Rep. Andre Baker, and Rep. Police Need Your Help

Norwalk Detectives need your help identify the pictured suspect. On October 19, 2017, the suspect made several thousand dollars worth of fraudulent purchases of jewelry and handbags at the Trumbull Mall and Saks Fifth Avenue in Greenwich using the victim’s store credit cards. The suspect had the sales associates look up the accounts using the victim’s personal information and opened several other store credit cards in the victim’s name as well.
