Fairfield News: Firefighters Battle House Fire
11:18pm--#Fairfield CT-- Fairfield firefighters battle a major house fire at 203 South Benson Road. When firefighters arrived they found heavy fire on the left and back of the building. Police were on the scene first and were told by neighbors that the house was being renovated and the owners were living elsewhere. Firefighters had to force their way into the structure which delayed putting the fire out. They had a majority of the of the fire knocked down within the first half hour and had the fire completely out including hot spots within the hour. Firefighters from Westport and Bridgeport provided mutual aid. There were no reported injuries.

Fairfield News: Air Scare
3:39pm--#Fairfield CT-- Station House Pediatrics at 2228 Black Rock Turnpike called Fairfield Firefighters to meter their air after staff and patients complained of lightheadedness. Firefighters metered multiple times but found no readings. Firefighters said that a treatment was being applied to the roof and it may have come in through the ventilation system. During the metering process a book bag was found unattended which turned out to be forgotten. Police told me it had identification and was just left behind and forgotten.
