Fairfield News: Police Activity

#Fairfield CT--Police activity near Starbucks area.  Police first received a call for two suspicious males on Sanford Street.  Police then received a call for two different males leaving behind backpacks near the Subway on Post Road by a passerby.  The police could not locate the backpacks police called the passerby back and she said the backpacks are gone but there is a woman's purse in the parking lot behind Subway.  Police tracked it to a real estate agent nearby, possibly stolen from her car.  Police are tracking the two males in connection from Sanford Street in connection to this call.  Police have had sightings on Phillips and Thorpe Street.  Description is vague, two Hispanic males dressed in black.   This…

Bridgeport News: Shooting Victim

12:40am--#Bridgeport CT--A police officer at Bridgeport Hospital called in that a shooting victim has just arrived at the hospital, brought in by his nephew.  There were reports of earlier of shots fired near 540 Grand Street.  EMS just cautioned their drivers of one of the ambulance bays being closed off as a crime scene.  Police say they are looking for a gray Monte Carlo responsible for the shooting.   This report sponsored by:

Fairfield News: Man Arrested For Lewd Conduct At Train Station

12:15am--#Fairfield CT--Sergeant Michael Paris is seen here taking Thomas Wilkes in custody  for alleged lewd acts at the train station.  Wilkes was seen by three woman who called police and  said Wilkes was in a stairwell at the Metro Train Station with his pants down, groaning and pleasuring himself on Frank Street side of the station.  Wilkes then hoped on a train and got off  at the downtown train station where Officer Mark Letsch caught up with him.  Wilkes is supposedly from Westport but is thought to be homeless.  The three woman did not press charges because they did not miss their train.  Wilkes was charged with breach of peace and release on a promise to appear in court later…

Bridgeport News: Deck Fire

11:38am---#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were called to the condos at 2675 Park Avenue for back deck fire.  The fire was thought have been started by a gas grill.  Firefighters were very quick to the scene because they were already on the road with their ongoing Smoke Detector Awareness Program.  It is actually called the The “Safe Asleep” program which  began in 2005 as a partnership between the city fire department and RYASAP. Residents in need of smoke alarms can call 203-335-8835, and the fire department will install it for free.
