Bridgeport News: Fire At St. Vincent’s Hospital
12:24am--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were called for an activated fire alarm at St. Vincent's Medical Center at 2800 Main Street. They discovered a heavy smoke condition in the basement. The called for additional freighters to the scene to help investigate. They discovered a dryer fire near the loading dock area. As usual the firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. St. Vincent's then started diverting emergency patients to other hospitals.

State and State Police Union Reach Tentative Contract Agreement
Formal contract negotiations between the State of Connecticut and the Connecticut State Police Union have concluded. The parties have reached a tentative agreement on a three-year successor contract effective July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2018. The Union is in the process of seeking ratification of the Agreement from its members. Once the Agreement is ratified, the State shall submit it to the Legislature for approval pursuant to Section 5-278 of the Connecticut General Statutes. The basic wage terms are as follows: A three percent (3%) general wage increase effective July 1, 2015.
