Video Report--#Bridgeport CT--A pedestrian is clinging to life and is in critical condition after being struck by a van at the intersection of Barnum Avenue and Elizabeth Street. Witnesses told me the van had a green light and that the white pickup ran the red light. If you watch the video you will see the light on the Grant Street side was malfunctioning. The van then hit an abandoned bank. Police are investigating.
2:19pm--#Norwalk CT--The Norwalk Community Health at 120 Connecticut Avenue is being evacuated for a possible fire in the pharmacy department. Firefighters on the way.
11:49pm--#cttraffic--#Westport CT-- Tonight's car fire is hosted in Westport on I-95 southbound between exits 18 and 17. 9:40pm--#Bridgeport CT--A man was just beat up and robbed at the corner of Jones and James Street by two males on bicycles.
7:21pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were called to 800 Brewster Street for fire at an air conditioning unit. The fire extended to the first and second floors but firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze. The fire had traveled between the floors through the walls. Firefighters opened the walls and ensured the fire did not extend elsewhere and made sure there were no embers that can reignite the fire. Assistant Fire Chief Ismael Pomales told me that the air conditioner unit is suspected but that is for the fire marshal who was called to the scene to determine. There were no reported injuries.
1:59pm--#Westport CT-- Report of a tree partially blocking the road on Baybarry Lane near Nutcracker Lane.
Police are investigating a crash that involved a number of vehicles at State Street. Apparently when the cars impacted at State and Park Avenue. After impact the sedan continued a traveling a block before coming to stop at Hanover Street. The woman in this car then began having a seizure. Firefighters were on scene extricating a number of people from the cars.
11:31am--#Trumbull CT-- Report of a structure fire at 59 Coventry Lane. A neighbor reportedly saw flames shooting up by the chimney of the house. UPDATE-- Firefighters on scene, structure fire is confirmed.
