Bridgeport News: Four Arrested at Post World Cup Gathering

#Bridgeport, CT – June 25, 2014– Four people were arrested Monday during a large celebration following a Word Cup match. A large number of people in vehicles and on foot flooded the streets in the area of Madison Avenue Monday evening at the conclusion of a soccer match. Police set up traffic points to help manage the crowds. At 6:11 p.m., an officer directing traffic observed a Honda Civic doing a “burn out” in the middle of the road, revving its engine and spinning its tires. Officers flagged down  the motorist, Filipe Rodrigues-DeSouza, 23, of Bridgeport, after he almost struck another vehicle. 6:01pm--#Bridgeport CT--A resident in the 200 block of Exeter Street came home from work to find their  back door pushed in and jewelry box was taken. Bridgeport News: Firefighters Battle Inferno With Reports Of Shots Fired In Area

10:15ish--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters battled a massive inferno at 40 Hudson Street.  While on the way to the fire firefighters received word to use extreme caution at the scene for there police were called to a report of shots fired in the neighborhood.  The firefighters arrived on scene safely and was did a great job  quickly get water on the fire and getting the flames under control.   First and second inspections found everyone got out safely but sadly one dog had perished in the blaze.  The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. ©2014 DoingItLocal.com NOT FOR BROADCAST  Internet use with commercial pre-roll and watermarks remaining in the video at all times.

Trumbull News: New Life Church Raises $40k to Help End Human Trafficking

#Trumbull CT--Over 400 runners and walkers joined together to help raise over $40,000 in New Life Church's first 5K marathon Saturday.  The money was raised for Project Rescue.  At Project Rescue they provide a physical, emotional and spiritual rescue and also give a holistic restoration to women and children that are in sexual slavery.
