#Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 16, 2013 – Detectives are investigating an early morning homicide in which a 21-year-old man was fatally shot. It was the 12th homicide in the City this year. At approximately 2 a.m., patrol officers responded to the area of Poplar Street and Maplewood Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Officers located a silver Nissan Pathfinder on Poplar, just south of Maplewood. The vehicle had crossed the centerline of the street, striking a parked truck head on. Located inside of the vehicle was DeWayne Gardner, of Bridgeport. Upon further investigation it was determined that Gardner had been shot in the torso. Responsible is a black Jeep Wrangler with over sized tires last seen heading north on Sport Hill Road.

2:33pm--#Milford CT--Firefighters are fighting a stubborn blaze at 36 Pine Crest Court.
