#Westport CT--The Westport Fire Department received official notification that we have been awarded $28,814 in federal funding to purchase and outfit our firefighters with Personal Escape Systems. A Personal Escape System is an essential component of a firefighter’s personal protective gear and consists of an anchoring hook, a descent device, life safety rope or webbing, a carabiner and a storage/ deployment bag. These essential pieces of equipment become integrated into a firefighter’s gear by connecting to a harness worn in the protective bunker pants. 7:39pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A man called the police that he was being followed by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend at Capital and Main Street. He drove to police headquarters at 300 Congress Street. The victim turned onto Lyon's Terrace and at the police booking ramp. Both vehicles stopped and police detained them both. Police found a firearm in the ex's car and arrested him. Westport News: Narcotics Arrest
#Westport CT--On 08/29/18 at approximately 3:00pm, an officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on the Post Road. A registration check for the vehicle showed the registered owner had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Ansonia, CT. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the operator was identified as the registered owner, Karsheeem Harmon of Norwalk, CT. As Harmon was taken into custody, 10 folds of heroin were located in his pants pocket. Harmon was transported to headquarters where he was charged with 21a-279(a) Possession Controlled Substance: Narcotics. He posted $1,000 bond, but was detained until he was turned over to Ansonia officers on the outstanding warrant out of their jurisdiction. This news report is made possible by:
