9:50pm--#Stratford CT-- First responders on the way to Barnum Avenue and Califonia Street for a 15 year old male who was shot in the chest with a nail gun and the nail went through his back. 5:05pm--#Bridgeport CT- Heavy black smoke was seen over the East End from an attic fire at 449 Newfield Avenue. Firefighters were challenged to get in the attic as there was no front stairway to the attic. The firefighters had to go up the stairs from one apartment through a hallway and then up to the attic. Everyone made it out safely, one person suffered smoke inhalation. Red Cross is on the way to help those who live there.
UPDATE: Police spokesperson Av Harris confirmed it was a shooting, a female (transgender) was shot in the face and arm along with a broken jaw. Police believe the victim was targeted and known to her. Animal Control was called to take care of the victim's dog. 2:02pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A woman was stabbed at 284/286 Stillman Street. There is very little info on this breaking news story. Detectives just arrived to investigate.
12:39pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Multiple officers were called to help break up a street fight at Maidson and Wallace Street, near the jail.
#Stratford CT-- Firefighters quickly contained a structure fire on Garibaldi Avenue.When firefighters arrived they found heavy fire on the back of the home. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Everyone made it out safely. There were no reported injuries. Firefighters from surrounding towns provided mutual aid to cover the fire stations emptied to battle this blaze.
#Monroe CT-- Tonight the Stepney Volunteer Fire Department said goodbye to an old friend, a 1995 Gowans--Knight rescue firetruck that has served Monroe for the last 23 years. The truck will find new action in a volunteer fire department in Pennsylvania. But Stepney volunteers are saying hello to the new Rescue Engine Squad 103.
6:05pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A foot pursuit in backyards from Central Avenue to Ogden Street Extension ended when a Bridgeport Police Officer may have broken his foot jumping over a fence in pursuit of a suspect. #Westport, CT)- At approximately 9:00 am on Sunday, April 22nd, an officer conducting stationary radar in the area of 180 Bayberry Lane observed a vehicle traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. The radar unit indicated the vehicle was traveling at a rate of 63mph in the 25mph zone. As the officer initiated a motor vehicle stop, he smelled a distinct odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The operator was identified as Tony J. Bowens Jr., 23, of Shelton, CT. During the stop, officers learned Bowens had an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Appear 2nd and that his Connecticut pistol permit was revoked. #Bridgeport CT-- Police say that just before 7pm Sunday, the motorcycle was traveling south on Park Avenue when it collided with a white sedan that was slowly turning onto Park Avenue. The motorcycle collided with the car throwing the driver and passenger. The driver of the motorcycle, Danillo Andrade, 31, remains in the hospital from bleeding on the brain and a fractured wrist. His passenger Miranda Elienai died from serious head injuries. The driver of the car was identified Tremaine Wilson of New Haven. No charges have been filed and police continue to investigate.
