6:19pm--#Fairfield CT-- There was a rollover crash on Chambers Street in front of the I-95 southbound exit 24 ramp and in front of the Cumberland Farms. There were injuries reported.
10:42pm--#Bridgeport News: Police on patrol noticed a woman in a car trying to escape from the passenger door of a moving car on I-95. The police followed the car (no lights or sirens) off exit 26 after calling state police of the incident. 6:37pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Two people complained of injuries but refused medical treatment at this two car crash in the 1600 block of Capital Avenue. The second car was moved after the picture was taken. The roadway was closed for a short period of time.
5:15pm--#Fairfield CT-- Police have been tracking a shoplifter from the Stop and Shop on Villa Avenue in the Kings Highway. They had him tracked to the Rooster River behind the Board Of Education Building on 500 Kings Highway East. They caught up with him on Arising Street (Miller Nissan overflow parking area). He has a broken arm and hypothermia from the ordeal. State Police provided K-9 in the search.
Fire Department UPDATE: At 0223 this morning, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1367 Reservoir Ave. Upon arrival units found fire on the outside of the building threating to extend to the interior. Quick operations by the members of the department held the damage to the exterior. Our Fire Marshal Division is working with Bridgeport Police to investigate the fire. The incident is being treated as suspicious with evidence at the scene suggesting that the fire may have been intentionally set. The working fire required a full 1st alarm assignment of 4 Engines, 2 Ladder Trucks, the Rescue Company, an Assistant Chief and Safety Officer. 1:40am--#Bridgeport CT-- Police attempted to pull over a car when it took off on police, then quickly stopped and the driver fled on foot. Police are looking in backyards in the Helen/Ogden/Stillman/Hallet Street area. Police are looking for a black male about 25 years of age wearing a black coat or hoodie and a black knit hat. 11:49pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A car crashed through a chain-linked fence and into the front porch of a house in the 200 block of Berkshire Avenue. The driver of the car fled on foot. The homeowner was rightfully upset.
UPDATE: It is with a heavy heart I report that the man has passed away. The driver of the car fled on foot. 8:44pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Prayers are needed for a man pinned after being hit at the intersection of Park Avenue and Olive Street. Firefighters worked feverishly to free the man from under the car. Firefighters traveled with the man in the ambulance to St. Vincent's Hospital continuing CPR on the man. Expect the area to be closed for the accident investigation.
