Stratford News: Chemical Fire
Fire Department UPDATE: At 2220 hrs. the Stratford 911 Center received a 911 call from an employee of Ashcroft Inc. stating that there was a fire inside the building located at 250 East Main Street. The Stratford Fire Marshals Office reports that several second shift employees observed a worsening smoke condition inside the production area. Simultaneously alerting Stratford 911 and initiating an evacuation of the facility, employees applied three portable fire extinguishers to control the fire. Subsequently, the building fire sprinkler system activated due to the worsening conditions holding the fire in check until the arrival of Stratford Fire personnel at 2227 hrs.
