Update on Bridgeport’s 1st homicide of 2018

#Bridgeport CT--Just after 12:30am police were called to Revere and Newfield Avenue for two shots fired. Reports say the victim is Jawuan Green, of Read Street was shot in the chest just outside The Snack Shop located at 604 Newfield Avenue, he reportedly stumbled back into the store where he collapsed. Two bullet holes can be seen in the plexiglass door Green was transported by private vehicle to Bridgeport Hospital where he died of his injuries. Two days earlier Green celebrated his 21st birthday. The shooting marks this city's first homicide of 2018.

Bridgeport News: Man Shot

12:37am--#Bridgeport CT-- Police received a call for shots fired on Newfield Avenue, the caller heard two shots but did not see anything.  A few minutes later police received a call from the corner store at Newfield and Revere that a man stumbled inside the store and then collapsed.  The victim was then carried out and transported to Bridgeport Hospital by private vehicle.  There was no word where the man's condition nor where on his body he was shot.

Fairfield News: Home Depot Larceny

#Fairfield CT--On 12/12/17, Fairfield Police received a report of a shoplifting that occurred at the Home Depot. The suspect pictured below is believed to have taken three(3) NEST thermostats, and two(2) RING wireless video doorbells valued at $1,173.48. The suspect handed the cashier a prepaid phone-card, grabbed the bagged items, and then ran out of the store into the white vehicle seen in the surveillance photo. Below is a surveillance image of the suspect and his vehicle captured while at Home Depot at the time of the theft. Wrong Way Driver Hits Trooper–Thought She Was In Jersey

#Darien CT-- Just before 1pm state police began receiving numerous calls for a wrong way driver on I-95 going north in the southbound lanes near exit 5.  Police received numerous calls for near misses.  Trooper Santiago observed the suspect vehicle and was able to avoid a head-on collision but was sideswiped by the suspect's vehicle near exit 12 in Darien.  Both the vehicle and cruiser suffered heavy damage.  Neither the trooper nor the suspect, Ashton Steen, 27 of 87 Holmes Avenue in Darien.  Steen admitted to consuming alcohol and believed she was in New Jersey.  After failing field sobriety tests she was taken into custody and charged with Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, Driving the wrong way and DUI.  She was released after posting…
