#Bridgeport CT-- At approximately 7:20pm this evening Bridgeport Police in the area of Trumbull Avenue was approached and flagged down by a resident in need of assistance reporting two deceased persons in an apartment at 405 Trumbull Avenue. BPD called in for additional officers to assist on the scene. Upon confirmation of the two fatalities, BPD Detectives Bureau was also notified. Preliminary reports from the scene indicate the incident to be a murder-suicide. The State Medical Examiner has been notified and will conduct their investigation and report the final cause of death. BPD Detectives Bureau is still working the case and the scene of the incident - this is an active investigation. Identities of the victims are not available at…

6:15pm--#Bridgeport Ct-- A man lighting off fireworks at 680 Brewster Street accidentally blew his hand off according to police. This is near the intersection of Fairfield Avenue near the old bank. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
2:07am--#Bridgeport CT--This morning at approximately 0207 hours, dispatch received a call of shots fired into a home at 14 Lakeside Drive. Upon arrival, BPD found a female victim inside the home had sustained a graze to the head. A preliminary assessment was made that this was a non-life threatening injury as the victim was stable and transported to the hospital by EMT’s. The victim is identified as Jamilivette Padilla, age 18. Bridgeport Police and the Detective Bureau are working with Stratford PD on this matter and a related incident surrounding the circumstances of this shooting. 4:25pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Engine 12 was hit by a car while making a turn on Island Brook Extension. T The fire truck was responding with lights and sirens to an accident on Route 8/25 which turned out to be a false call. There were no reported injuries.
4:21pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to Thurston Street where an electrical box charred some plywood causing a burning smell in the residence. There was no damage.

10:34pm-- #Bridgeport CT—Multiple witnesses told me that it was teens lighting off fireworks on the roof of a vacant building at 1119 Stratford Avenue that started a fire to the structure. Firefighters on arrival reported heavy fire in the back of the building. It took firefighters about fifteen minutes to knock the bulk of the fire down and about an hour to extinguish all the hot spots. Firefighters needed four hand lines to extinguish the fire in addition to other hose lines to protect neighboring homes. One firefighter received minor injuries.
